THE TRADE Magazine Cover Photoshoot - Denver Portrait Photographer

I recently worked with Dan Royal of Janus Henderson to get photos of him for an article in The Trade magazine, a UK based Finance magazine.  Dan and his team were being featured in the magazine and The Trade needed a Denver photographer to get photos for the story.  It was awesome and exactly the kind of shoot I love to do.  I love telling a story with my photography and I love that there was a story to go with this one.

I met Dan at the Janus Henderson office in Cherry Creek North and we used some of the office interior as well as walking around Cherry Creek North to get some outside shots.  The interior of the office was nice and definitely had a corporate vibe.  But there were also some cool spots that were unique to Janus and we took advantage of those photo opportunities.  One of my favorite spots in the entire office building was the trading desk, which is what Dan manages.  The look of the multiple computer screens and the American flag in the background is exactly what I think of when I think of “traders”.  I love how these photos turned out in this space.

Oh my word, these are absolute gold Tim - thanks so much and I can’t wait to lay these out, the feature is going to look fantastic. I am absolutely delighted we will have such a strong image on the front cover.

CHERRY CREEK NORTH

Next we headed out to Cherry Creek North and walked around.  It was mid-morning and we had to search for good lighting since the lighting can be a bit harsh at that time.  The thing I love about urban photoshoots is that there are so many different spots that could be great.  Cherry Creek North definitely has a plethora of good spots and you can always find good and interesting lighting in that area.

Cherry Creek North also features some nice hotels and if you are lucky, you can pop into one of them for a quick snap in the lobby area.  We did that in one and found a pool table.  And what’s cool is that the cover shot that was used for the magazine ultimately was one that we took in this random hotel lobby.  Ha!

Dan was an absolute pleasure to work with and I had a great time wandering around and getting to know him and what he does.  I actually wanted to work for Janus back in college.  I studied finance and wanted to work as a trader.  Ultimately, it just never worked out and I think that was probably for the better.  I’m loving being a Denver photographer and love getting to work with awesome clients like Dan.
