Personal Branding for Author Jenny Wood

I had the pleasure of working with Jenny Wood, who is an author and an “OG” Google employee who’s been with the company for 16 years! Jenny is super type-A and to be honest, I thought this was going to be an exhausting photoshoot (lol). But Jenny was awesome. She was way over prepared. She had a ton of clothes, hair and make-up, and a ton of ideas and we had so much fun! The photoshoot went from being a 2-hour photoshoot to an 8-hour photoshoot!

Jenny was looking for a Denver photographer to build up her personal branding library of images. She’s releasing a new book and this will be part of her branding story as well as marketing materials for any press releases and the like. The book isn’t released yet, as of now, but I’m excited to see it all come tougher for Jenny. I know she’s going to crush it!

Wish I could give SIX stars! Tim is the best photographer I’ve ever worked with. Hands down. He is supremely talented, takes stunning photos, and is fast, patient, and kind. We did a big shoot for an upcoming book, website, and social media posts; his creative ideas in the studio and in several outdoor locations were all great. In addition to headshots, portraits, and personal branding, he also does weddings, couples, families, online dating, high school seniors, commercial and editorial photography. You will have so much fun taking the pictures, and your photos will be gorgeous, professional, and high-quality. I also loved that Tim was reasonably priced with transparent fees right on his website. It was also fast and easy to book a session online. Of the 25 photographers I checked out, I’m so glad I went with Tim. You will be too.

Our photoshoot began at my studio where we spent a few hours doing different outfits and ideas.  We worked with the lovely and talented Lena for hair and makeup and she did a fantastic job.  Jenny brought a ton of outfits (I should have taken a picture of it all!) and Lena helped pick out the ones we wanted to use.

The studio shoot worked out great for what Jenny was looking for.  The primary goal was to get a shot of her “on stage” with a microphone on her ear, as if she was giving a speech.  But she had so many ideas that we ended up spending way more time in the studio than originally planned.

After the studio photoshoot, we went to downtown Denver to some of my favorite spots.  The coffee shops and buildings offered a perfect backdrop for what Jenny was looking for.  Professional yet fun and a little out there.  I think the downtown photos will be used more in her personal branding.  To me, there’s just so much more life and fun to the photos versus the studio shots.

We did most of these outdoor shots in the Union Station area of Denver, which offers a ton of different options.  I highly recommend this location for photos in Denver!
